Holden announced plans to employ 1000 extra people at its South Australian operations and introduce a third shift from June 2003. The massive expansion program will enable Holden to pursue new export opportunities and increase the number of models produced at the Elizabeth plant from 28 to 35. Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Peter Hanenberger, today said Holden was on track to becoming a global car company driven by Australian know-how and expertise.
